    It is important for investors to take the suitability assessment test to gauge their risk tolerance levels before investing in unit trust funds. In general, younger investors can afford to opt for moderate- to higher-risk funds as they have a longer time horizon to ride out the highs and lows of market cycles. To diversify one’s investment is to spread the portfolio of funds across a range of markets (e.g. domestic, regional and global markets) as well as asset classes (e.g. equity, bond and money market funds). Typically, different markets or asset classes may perform differently at various stages of a market cycle. A decline in the performance of one or two funds can be partially mitigated by the steadier performance of other funds in the portfolio.

Apa itu Ekuiti?

Ekuiti mewakili nilai yang akan dikembalikan kepada pemegang saham syarikat jika semua aset dibubarkan dan semua hutang syarikat telah dijelaskan.

Kita juga boleh menganggap ekuiti sebagai tahap pemilikan baki dalam firma atau aset selepas menolak semua hutang yang berkaitan dengan aset tersebut.

Ekuiti mewakili kepentingan pemegang saham dalam syarikat, yang dikenal pasti pada kunci kira-kira syarikat.

Pengiraan ekuiti ialah jumlah aset syarikat ditolak dengan jumlah liabilitinya dan ia digunakan dalam beberapa nisbah kewangan utama seperti “ROE”.

Ekuiti rumah ialah nilai harta pemilik rumah (tolak hutang) dan merupakan cara lain istilah ekuiti digunakan.

3 Struktur Asas Unit Trust

Struktur asas pelaburan unit trust terdiri daripada tiga komponen utama:

1. Pemilik unit: Pemilik unit adalah pelabur yang membeli unit trust. Mereka memiliki pemilikan dalam portfolio pelaburan dan akan menerima pulangan yang diperoleh daripada aset yang terkandung dalam portfolio.

2. Pengurus pelaburan: Pengurus pelaburan adalah syarikat atau individu yang bertanggungjawab untuk menguruskan dan mengawal portfolio pelaburan. Mereka akan menentukan lokasi aset, melaksanakan transaksi dan melaporkan prestasi kepada pemilik unit.

3. Trustee: Trustee adalah syarikat atau individu yang bertanggungjawab untuk mengawal pengurus pelaburan dan memastikan bahawa mereka mengikuti peraturan yang ditetapkan.

Mereka juga akan bertanggungjawab untuk menyediakan laporan kewangan dan membuat pembayaran dividen kepada pemilik unit.
